Initially developed as a possible treatment for depression in the early 1960s, Deprenyl was approved by FDA in 1989 for use against Parkinson's Disease. Deprenyl, an MAO-B Inhibitor that acts on an important chemical in the brain called dopamine. It is important for good health that the manufacture of dopamine from amino acids and the destruction of dopamine by MAO-B be kept in balance.
